Welcome to The Good Shepherd, Newton!
Who are we?
We are a church situated in the same parish as St Mary's, Clifton upon Dunsmore. The Good Shepherd is actually a 'Chapel of Ease' (to find out more ask Rev'd Pete!).
This is a wonderful place that has to be experienced to be believed. The church has such a rich history in the village and was built in 1901. Again, along with our friends at St Mary's, we are friendly and welcoming and enjoy lots of laughter. We are quite positive about our future and feel that God will work more powerfully among us in this parish in the future.
What to expect? (Services)
We meet twice a month on a Sunday at 6pm and we really enjoy worshiping God through singing. We have an organist who usually leads us in this.
The building itself offers has a warm and welcoming place that is centre of the village and the congregation are very friendly. Our services are typically informal, so please feel welcome to come and visit.
Here are the finer details:
1st Sunday of the month - Service of the Word
3rd Sunday of the month - Holy Communion
What's Happening?
Along with the rest of the benefice we really like to be amongst our community and so please check the all churches calendar for updates. As we are belong to the same parish of St Mary's, we naturally have a strong relationship which enables us to partner in lots of community activities. Please check the calendar and Newsletter for upcoming events.
Tuesday Teas
One of these activities is Tuesday Teas! This, as you can tell, takes place each Tuesday at the Townsend Memorial Hall for people from the village of Clifton and Newton to come, meet and chat over tea and cake.
Bible Study
Happens typically happens every first Wednesday of the month, however, the patter changes for seasons such as Lent. Please check calendar.
Hire of Church Space
The Good Shepherd has a small but very practical space to use and we love to support the community in sharing the space. If you would like to hire the church space please contact: admin@beneficebcn.org.uk
