Welcome to St Mary's,
Clifton upon Dunsmore!
Who are we?
The Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin in the village of Clifton is the oldest and once was the mother church of Rugby; people have worshiped on this site since pre-Roman times. We are a welcoming and friendly congregation, with lots of laughter, and we're excited about the future of St Mary's along with our other parish church, The Good Shepherd.
We enjoy meeting in this friendly church, be that for the Eucharistic, or less formal styles of worship. We are a traditional church with varied patterns of worship and the congregation feel that they connect with God in the place through these services. We also have a very good relationship with our Church School which is just down the road.
What to expect? (Services)
We are a more traditional church who enjoy the beauty of the Eucharist.
However, once a month, we hold a family service which is more informal where we try to create an all-age and more child focused service. In this service we have a choir from the school who lead us in contemporary songs.
Everyone is welcome to our services and it's a great place to try a more traditional style of church along with the warmth our congregation offers.
Our main service is 9:30am each Sunday where we follow the Anglican liturgy.
For updates on our services you can follow the link to the St Mary's calendar at the bottom of the page or follow the 'all churches calendar'.

What's Happening?
St Mary's is a church woven into the life of Clifton upon Dunsmore. Throughout the year the church holds special events for the village. Our other church, The Good Shepherd, is also technically part of St Mary's parish and so we often share community events with each other. St Mary's is also very much involved with the local Clifton upon Dunsmore primary school. The best way to keep up to date with current events is to check our calendar. Here are some of the typical highlights throughout the the year:
Tuesday Teas @Townsend Memorial Hall
This is a great opportunity for people in the village to meet each other over tea/coffee and cake! Everyone is welcome to come along.
Wednesday Prayer Meeting, 12pm, St Mary's
Here, we pray for those whom prayer had been requested. People are invited and encouraged to come to this or let us know if there is anyone you would like prayer for.

Once a month we gather to celebrate Holy Communion, using BCP. This is usually the 4th Wednesday of the month.
